In the face of concessions that modern games have made towards fun, Diablo 2's insistence on grind and unforgiving systems and 20-year-old bugs can just make me feel… tired.

At the same time, it's blatantly a game from an era where the demands on our time were very different than what we’ve seen in the past decade. As someone who played more than my fair share of Diablo 2 between 20, Resurrected absolutely scratches an itch for the golden age of this genre. After a hundred hours smashing demons, I've kicked Diablo to the curb a couple times and I'm thoroughly reacquainted with the good and the bad that the most revered game in Blizzard’s action RPG series has to offer. However, that is only the case with the item affixes, for the gems I think you always want to use the gem that increases the primary stat.Nothing more than a coat of fresh paint over the old masterpiece, Diablo 2: Resurrected is a curious piece of video game restoration. For int classes, if your all resists is over 2000, then you should consider adding some armor. for str and dex classes since you get a lot of armor from primary stat, you should focus on increasing all resist. I have to check again.Īnyways it means the more AR or armor you have the less efficient each AR or armor points will be at reducing damage. I believe x is 300 and y is 3000 or something.

I am not 100% sure about the following 2 equations but as far as I know the equation for how much AR or armor reduces the damage is use rubies for chest and pant sockets and rely on paragon points instead of diamonds for increasing defensive stats. I think aLCuiN is saying for chest/pant/belt/shoulder items, it is better to have all resist option rather than armor option (so for other items you should not add all resist or armor because there are better options to add). Here's my BN page: (currently shows with BK weapons and Avarice band and such for T6 farming). Sorry if this is a noob question, normally I'm not really into Barbarians.

Or even get the all reist stat? What would benefit a Barbarian more? And what would be the ideal range of all resists? But can somebody explain me the reason why I should use Diamond gems? I also rerolled some %-life stats on my gear pieces to Armor (since I was still around 700-800'ish life) and it just got better and better.īasically Ruby gems (plain ARMOR gains) went way better defensively as Diamonds did. So then I also switched the Diamonds in my armor piece for Ruby's and it went even better. Then I did another 40'ish (I don't exactly remember) Grift and somehow this went WAY better defensively. Then I found my Ancient IK 2h and I replaced my Diamonds in my pants with Ruby's. What would be better for a Barb who's currently progressing from Grift 46?Ĭause I always used Diamonds in my armor and pants, and my Resists were around ☑000.
